John Pointon and Sons Ltd are to build a 60,000 tonnes per annum Food Waste Anaerobic Digestion and renewable energy facility. The type of Animal By Products (ABP) being collected has changed dramatically over the past 10 years and now includes a lot more food and catering waste. This new initiative will give them the flexibility to optimise its value and is also consistent with stated Government policy on the recovery of energy from food waste
